Blue Hakini and

The Hakini mudra is  associated with the third eye and our inner wisdom. This mudra assists in integrating health, harmony and healing to all areas of your being. Along with the Hakini mudra, there are subtle images depicted to help you to take the time to notice something deeper outside of yourself. What would it be like if you could create a bridge to flow back and forth between being in touch with your deeper self and noticing the subtle things around you? How would they relate to one another? How can the beauty of what is inside you help you manage  your own struggles? How can these struggles help you see the wonder and the amazing universe both around and inside of your own being?

Try it!

Settle into a meditation posture. Once ready, place your hands in the position as shown in the painting. Breathe deeply and intentionally. Notice how your breath flows upward from the base of your body up to your collar bones and descends downward, bringing relaxation throughout your body. Begin to direct your breath to various areas of your body and then returning to your whole body breathing.

Direct 3 full breaths to the left side of your body….feel the sensations of the breath flowing to this area. Feel your breath awakening your intuition, your ability to receive love and harmony.

Next, direct 3 full breaths to your right side, which naturally stimulate your inspired action.

Now integrate your left and right side, experiencing the harmony between both by breathing into both sides together.

With your right and left sides integrated, begin to divide your being from front to back. Begin to take 3 full breaths directing your energy to the back of your body. Sense how directing your breath to the back of your body awakens the place where you hold your deep beliefs and the source of your thoughts and feelings.

Next, direct 3 full breaths to the front of your body. Notice your breath aligning with the conscious part of you, the part of you that makes up your personality and how you show up in the world.

What does one part of you want to tell the other?

Now breathe while directing the flow of your breath to both the front and back of your body. Feel your deep beliefs and the source of your thoughts and feelings unite with how you present yourself in the world. What would it feel like to be your truth?

Imagine there is a division between your lower part of your body, from the waist down, and your upper body, from the waist up. Begin to direct your breath to the lower part of your body. Breath fully for 3 breaths from the waist down, traveling down your legs to the soles of your feet. Feel yourself becoming more grounded and being completely present in your physical body.

Next, direct your breath to the upper portion of your body, following your breath from the the waist up, to the crown of your head. Imagine a doorway opening from the top of your head to your spiritual being. Take 3 full breaths allowing the air to flow in and out of this doorway.

Now, take 3 full breaths harmonizing the physical, material side of you with all your spiritual qualities.

Finally, breath fully bringing the left, right, front, back, upper and lower planes together. Repeat to yourself: “Through the integration of all areas of my being, I am experiencing complete harmony.”

Open your eyes and begin to look at the painting more deeply, with more intention. What do you feel? What do you notice? Can you see past the hands? Imagine the thumbs touching and forming a bridge. Is there anything there?

I don’t want to give it away, as the process of looking and absorbing is deeper and more rewarding. If you don’t see anything, it’s also perfectly ok. Maybe you see things that I intentionally didn’t put into the painting.
